Do you have a small craft businesses? With the Holidays already being prominently displayed in store displays all over the U.S., it is time that you as a crafter start advertising your business too.
1 – Create A Product Catalog Of Items You Sell
Take inventory of all the items you have for sale. Then make a list of items that you can make through special order. Your catalog can be something as simple as a list with pictures you create in a word processor or spreadsheet, or it can be something more elaborate like using catalog software. Check out this free software called Catalog Creator that was featured on CNET.com
2- Create A Holiday Specific Product Catalog
Having holiday catalogs that you can advertise throughout the year makes it easier for you to plan ahead with production.
3- Open An E-Store Or Webstore
The fastest way to open an e-store is to go through Etsy.com. You can also start your own webstore and take payments directly though there is a startup cost involved in making your own e-store, whereas Etsy is free and fast.
4 – Create A Facebook Page For Your Craft Business.
Post pictures of your items in a FB album along with a link to where people can order from. Update your page once or twice a week to stay relevant in people’s minds, and share new creations as you make them!
5 – Open A SargesList Account For Your Business
Add each product with image and description as a classified listing in your local area – or globally if you ship anywhere in the U.S. and APOs/FPOs. — Don’t forget to link back to your website, Etsy store, and/or Facebook Page so people can see the other items you have available.
6 – Offer An Item As A Deal
In SargesList you can create classified listings for “Deals” and “Coupons/Discounts”. For deal seekers, you will have more luck attracting them via the “Deals” section than in the general For Sale section. An example of a “Deal” classified would be to upload an image of your item and mention it is 20% off (or whatever number you choose) for one month only (or any amount of time).
7 – List Your Business As A Service Near Your Local Base
A business listing will make your business easier to find by adding you to a searchable database.
- Don’t forget to include the links to your website, webstore, and/or Facebook Page if you have them.
- Share your listings on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and any other social media site you frequent.
- Ask friends and family to like and share your listings and posts.
- Ask for opinions on your products to see what customers want to see you make.
