Each year, the month of November is set aside to thank military families.

November of each year marks Military Family Appreciation Month.

The month was set aside by a Presidential proclamation and exists to honor the sacrifices of our military families. Last year, President Obama stated our nation owes “each day of security and freedom that we enjoy to the members of our Armed Forces and their families. Behind our brave service men and women, there are family members and loved ones who share in their sacrifice and provide unending support.”

This celebration lasts throughout the month of November and usually, the Department of Defense and local military communities ceremoniously honor military families.

Thank you!

It’s not news to Sargeslist that being a military family comes with its fair share of sacrifices. Many of our staff are members of military families. We admire our military families and are grateful for the many ways your community can support you. We aim to do our part by keeping you plugged in, thriving in your community and lifestyle, and making it a little easier to keep some extra money in your pocket.

What’s going on this year?

Many military and base communities observe Military Family Appreciation Month through special events, runs, family events, dinners, discounts, sports and other special recognitions. Be sure to check with your local MWR and SargesList local pages to see what is going on. Also, if you know of an event that isn’t listed, please add it to SargesList so other members of your community may benefit.

Thank you, military families!
